Delusions of Quirkiness

Mental hurdles.

Everyone has them. Every writer, every doctor, every stay-at-home mom, every young ‘un, every oldster. Everybody.

Some just have more than most.

I, for instance, am thoroughly convinced that there’s a little man in my head whose sole job is to place brightly painted, wooden hurdles in whatever path I choose. (FYI: He wears a striped nautical turtleneck and puffs incessantly on a Brigham pipe… Delusions of grandeur are boring. Try delusions of colorful quirkiness to really get your blood pumping.)

Anyhow, I often tire of leaping the old mental hurdles.

Sometimes I just have to remind myself that I’m not the only one out there face-planting on life’s track every freaking day.

Ok, reminder over. I feel better now. On with your day.

Until tomorrow…

Recovery Position

After a spectacular Halloween which saw 81 trick-or-treaters brave Chloe Stowe’s front door (my house has basically been a Pumpkin & Witch Joy-Land for three weeks now), I spent the first daylight hours of November at the local auto repair shop.

Thankfully, the “Check Tire Pressure… Right, Freaking Now!!” light turned out to be just a false alarm caused by the first chill of the season.

However…

(Yeah. Big surprise here.) I don’t do such early morning escapades well.

“Check Prozac Level… NOW!” alarms were pretty much off the charts there for a bit.

Fun.

So, the remainder of my Saturday will be spent in recovery mode.

Do you realize how stupid that is?

*sighs*

Until tomorrow…
